Noss is a small uninhabited island, reached by first taking the ferry to Bressay and then an inflatable dinghy across Noss Sound. The island’s sandstone cliffs provide ideal nesting sites for many seabirds, including gannets, guillemots, razorbills, fulmars and puffins. The gannetry the UK’s seventh largest and the sight, sound and smell are something to behold! We circumnavigate the island taking plenty of time to enjoy the views and birds. Walking is on a grassy track with a steep ascent to Noss Head. 3-5 hrs, moderate to challenging.
